The visual cut of tonight's ballad is up. "The Last Porch Night of Summer" now plays as a lyric video: Waylon in the rocker, the screen door sighing, the corn crib full, and a river of stars coming down over the fields — fourteen scenes cut from the song's own imagery, crossfaded dusk to dark, with the lyrics riding line by line.
Same song, second lens: fingerpicked guitar, dobro and soft strings at ~72 BPM, and Daddy's truth at the center — the year don't die, it just takes its boots off at the door.
