Killzone Is Back From the Dead — and Honestly, It's About Time

Some games die. Killzone was buried. Sony's once-flagship shooter has been shelved for over a decade — long enough that "new Killzone" sounded like fan fiction. Well, the fan fiction is apparently real now: reports say Guerrilla Games is teaming up with People Can Fly to bring the Helghast back in a remaster. Sony has reportedly greenlit it — ahead of Horizon 3, no less, which is the kind of priority shuffle that makes executives sweat.

This is the army Sony forgot. The last proper Killzone shipped in 2013, and the franchise has been a punchline ever since — right up until it wasn't.

Now, reality check: there's no trailer, no release date, nothing playable. This is a "sources say" story, so keep your wallet holstered.

But imagine the original 2004 shooter's grit with modern lighting and modern gunfeel. Yeah. Easy pre-order.
