Nintendo just scheduled two Directs in two days — and one of them is thirty straight minutes of nothing but Zelda. The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct lands September 8 at 7 AM Pacific, followed the very next morning by a full Nintendo Direct on September 9. Lineups for both? Unannounced. Nintendo's favorite genre is, and always has been, making us wait.

The official announcement art confirms it: green side first, red side after. Roughly thirty minutes of Zelda content on day one, then the mainline show the next morning — both at 7 AM Pacific, both free to watch live.

Forty years is a wild number when you think about it. The cartridge that started it all — golden, plastic, and perfect — is now older than most of the people who'll be watching. Rumor mill expects remasters to anchor the anniversary show, maybe something brand new. All rumors until Monday, though.

The mute hero in the green tunic has outlived every console that ever carried him. Monday, he gets the biggest spotlight in the franchise's history.
