TechMinute | Aug 29 | Gemini Just Replaced 13 Apps on My Phone

One AI thread is doing the work of a productivity stack.

The Story

I did an experiment last month: I deleted thirteen apps and let Gemini handle their jobs. Calendar, reminders, to-do lists — the stuff I used to spread across Todoist, five note apps, and a widget graveyard. It all lives in one AI thread now. And it actually follows through.

I'm not alone here. The Wall Street Journal gave Google's personal intelligence full access to a reporter's daily life — trips, bookings, chaos management — and the verdict was startling in its simplicity: it's a huge help.

There's a catch, of course. AI subscriptions are quietly becoming the new cable bundle — five bucks here, ten there, until your assistant costs more than your streaming stack. The convenience is real. So is the creep.
