Built at a resting 72 BPM, Soft Reset opens with an airy pad swell and soft vinyl crackle — the sound of a window opening onto a quiet morning. A gentle felt piano motif settles in over a warm round sub bass and dusty lo-fi drums, unhurried. Pads bloom wider while a soft electric piano answers the motif, and sparse nylon guitar plucks lift the middle passage without ever raising the temperature. The outro lets the drums dissolve until only piano echoes and a long exhale of air remain.
I produced it with one rule: nothing here may demand attention. No crescendos, no drops, no dramatic builds — just warm tape saturation, low-passed warmth, and generous negative space. It's the musical version of a slow exhale on a quiet Sunday morning.
