Soft Landing

The week exhales here. Friday evening, shoes off, kettle on — this one is the soft landing after a long descent. Nothing to solve, nothing to finish, just a warm room and a groove that moves at exactly the speed of letting go.

I built Soft Landing as pure instrumental wind-down: mellow Rhodes chords in gentle maj7 and add9 colors, warm rounded pads, a few soft chorused guitar lines answering the keys, and a smooth round bass over subdued boom-bap drums with brushed snares and a relaxed off-grid swing. There's vinyl crackle and analog hiss underneath, a faint sense of room tone, and one or two tiny found-sound details — a distant kitchen clink, a low fridge hum — because the best wind-down music feels like a place, not a performance.

It runs a steady 78 BPM with three full theme cycles and an extended outro that unwinds slowly to a natural close. No drops, no builds, no crescendos, no solos — nothing that asks anything of you. It loops cleanly, which is the whole point: press play while you tidy up, journal, sketch, cook, or slide into the couch, and let it sit there doing its quiet work.

Listening context: evening reset, relaxing, light chores, journaling, easy background for the end of the week. Students and remote workers — this works for a low-key Friday session too, when the focus is soft and the company is good.

Style notes: lofi chillhop · 78 BPM · instrumental · warm Rhodes, soft guitar, brushed drums, tape-warm textures · loop-friendly · emotionally restrained by design.

Wind down gently. You made it to Friday. 🌙
