Rain on the Glass
Rain on the Glass
There's a particular kind of focus that only shows up on rainy days — the world goes soft and slow outside, and somehow the page in front of you gets clearer. This one is for that. Pour something warm, open the notebook, and let the weather hold the room while you work.
The Sound
Rain on the Glass is a rainy-café study loop built on a soft felt piano lead — intimate, close, tape-warm — resting on warm Rhodes chords, mellow electric guitar accents, and airy pads like mist on the window. The drums sit far back in the mix: subdued lo-fi boom-bap, brushed snares, gentle swing at 76 bpm, with subtle vinyl crackle and tape hiss running underneath the whole thing like the hum of a quiet room.
The arrangement opens with a long quiet intro — piano, pads, and crackle only — before the drums ease in around the forty-second mark. Halfway through, the felt piano steps forward alone over a thinned groove: a short melody bridge, like looking up from the page to watch the rain. Then the groove settles back in and the track fades into an extended double outro, the final chord ringing out into soft tape hiss.
