Pippin (Official Lyric Video)
"Nothing stays alive in a pocket — you plant it in the rain."
The fog comes off the water like a curtain going up, and tonight we're on Isla's hill — fourth keeper of a 150-year-old heirloom orchard, every tree a granddaughter of one seed that crossed an ocean in a nineteen-year-old's coat pocket. Pippin is the Folkloric Cabin era's newest tale: not a song about keeping a treasure, but about what keeps you — and the difference between preserving something in amber and letting it bear fruit.
The lyric video opens on the orchard in October gold — Isla walking the misty tree rows, Esther stepping off the gangway a century and a half ago, the cider press singing in the barn, bees drunk on windfall — while every line lands in time with the track, synced to the same alignment our nxplace player uses.
Era note: Folkloric Cabin (Thursday) — fingerpicked acoustic guitar, warm strings, hushed intimate verses and a final chorus that swells like the whole hillside singing back. 82 BPM, 3:35.
Some seeds sleep twenty springs inside a drawer. This one sailed an ocean instead. 🍎
