Home Address (Official Lyric Video)

The first sibling song in the songbook, now with its own lyric video.

Home Address came out of a hotel room between tour legs — the call home where her sister's kid drawing is running through the school laminator, the birthday cards for Josie bought in Dallas and Dublin and Osaka and never mailed, and the bridge that finally says it out loud: you didn't get the smaller life, you got the address. A superstar who owns a hundred rooms and not one of them is hers, telling the sister who stayed that she's the one holding the key.

This video opens on that card and rides the full 3:40 — hotel desk at dusk, the laminator humming gold, six unsealed birthday cards on a white duvet, forty thousand phone lights, and a porch door swinging open at the top of the stairs. Lyrics are timed line-by-line to the vocal.

The line the whole song turns on: "A door that opens when it hears you on the stairs."
