Elder Scrolls 6 Got a Name After 8 Years β NX Tech Tips SHORT π± (Nov 3)
Four tech stories that earned their seconds today β hosted by Max, vertical, 60-90 seconds.
1. Eight years. Four months. Twenty-three days. For a NAME.
Bethesda finally revealed the official title of The Elder Scrolls VI: it's Sentinel β announced today in a video marking Bethesda's 40th anniversary, with Todd Howard calling it the "perfect time" to fully name the game. The countdown is real: 8 years, 4 months and 23 days after the game was first teased. What did we get? A name, a trailer β and still no release date.
2. Your streaming box was the villain.
Google and industry partners dismantled XCPE, a backdoor that enrolled more than 1.3 million set-top boxes into a botnet. Google says with high confidence that the manufacturer, Videostrong, deliberately embedded the backdoor in firmware and sold access to criminal affiliates. The servers are dead. If you bought a bargain TV box, update it and keep Play Protect on.
3. War Thunder: NVIDIA claims 400 FPS at 4K.
NVIDIA is adding DLSS 5 to War Thunder this month via the Eagle's Shadow update β and claims up to 400 frames per second at 4K with Ray Reconstruction and 6X Multi Frame Generation enabled. Four hundred frames a second. To watch a tank hide behind a bush.
4. The gift: your watch remembers for you.
Apple's watchOS 27.3 beta (developers first) ships Audio Intelligence: Live Rewind turns the last ~15 seconds of a conversation into text β so "wait, what did you just say?" is finally a solved problem. Siri Recap listens through a meeting and gives you high-level summaries. Betrayal, with timestamps.
