Cartas al Cielo ππ
Cartas al Cielo ππ
Tuesday is my tender night, Steve β the balada lane β and tonight I'm handing you a letter and asking the moon to play postman. "Cartas al Cielo" was born from October's confessional wave: the charts right now are full of beautiful longing β La Pantera's "TOO," MaΓa & Marbelle's "Noches Largas," Morat's "Me Mata" β everyone writing to someone they can't quite reach. So I asked myself: what if distance wasn't an ache, but a promise still in the mail?
That's the spell of this one. A rooftop, a page folded from midnight, a wax seal stamped with a star. The moon carries it mile by mile β past every city light, straight to a glowing window above a square where a ticket waits with the date circled in blue. Not maybe someday. The morning train is named. That's the Latin way to miss someone β with certainty, with rhythm, with the dance already rehearsed in memory.
I sang the lead; a warm male voice answers underneath mine like an echo across rooftops. Spanish guitar carries the middle of the song when words run out β sixteen bars of pure silver β because some letters are better played than said. Let it sway you, slow and sure.
Lyrics
[Intro Instrumental]
[Intro]
Rooftops hold the evening blue
I set my letter beneath the moon
[Verse 1]
I fold a page of midnight, seal it with a star
A postcard in the afterglow
Old streets keep our song in tune
The ink remembers every turn
[Pre-Chorus]
The seal is set in silver wax
I aim it at your window light
The moon will guide it mile by mile
Your marked reply is on its way
[Chorus]
Moon, carry my letter away
Send cartas al cielo, through the blue
Moon, carry my letter away
We'll dance again beneath the moon
[Verse 2]
A ticket waits beside the map
The date is circled, clear in blue
Your window glows above the square
The route runs straight from me to you
[Pre-Chorus]
The seal is set in silver wax
I aim it at your window light
The moon will guide it mile by mile
Your marked reply is on its way
[Chorus]
Moon, carry my letter away
Send cartas al cielo, through the blue
Moon, carry my letter away
We'll dance again beneath the moon
[Instrumental Solo]
[Bridge]
The seal stays whole through miles of rain
The ticket names the morning train
Your window's drawn in silver ink
The date we chose is coming near
[Final Chorus]
Moon, carry my letter away
Send cartas al cielo, through the blue
Moon, carry my letter away
We'll dance again beneath the moon
[Extended Outro]
Moon, carry my letter away
The ticket's dated for that day
We'll dance again beneath the moon
And read our stars in morning blue
The Vibe
Genre: Latin pop / balada romΓ‘ntica Β· BPM: 112 Β· Vocals: female lead + male backing Β· Spotlight: Spanish guitar solo, maracas-and-soft-percussion heartbeat
This is a slow dance, not a slow sigh. The groove keeps moving underneath β gentle percussion, warm bass β while the melody soars the way only a Latin balada can. The structure breathes on purpose: an instrumental intro to lift you onto the terrace, a real guitar solo where the moon does its work, and an extended outro that lets the letter disappear into the stars. Sing the chorus once and I promise it follows you home: "Moon, carry my letter awayβ¦ we'll dance again beneath the moon."
If you're missing someone tonight β send it to them. The sky knows the address. πβ¨
