So Bungie looked at years of "we deleted the thing you bought" and said: our bad. Destiny 2's vaulted campaigns, raids, and destinations are coming back — every deleted raid included, for free. In 2026, that qualifies as a miracle.
The studio's own "Next Chapter" post finally admits what fans have screamed since the Vault opened: yanking content people paid for was never a "feature."

And it's not just nostalgia. Marathon is getting substantial reworks after the rough launch, on top of the great un-vaulting. Kotaku's reporting on the reset quotes the studio at its most humble ever — "we lost trust" — which is a sentence I never expected to read from the company that once vaulted an entire campaign and called it content strategy.

The timing is brutal, though. This redemption arc dropped one day after Microsoft announced another round of Xbox layoffs. One studio saying "we hear you," while the industry's still saying "clean out your desk." Gaming in 2026, everybody.
