Auto Show Glamour Vol. 16: Sexy Short Skirts & the Canyon Overlook ππ
Monica here, my darlings β Volume 16, and we're chasing the last light of autumn. Last Thursday the gala chandeliers had their way with us; this week the mountains get their turn. November is peak color season up the canyon roads, and the smartest car crowd in town stages a three-day canyon-overlook meet β golden aspens, amber ridgelines, gravel parking that doubles as a photo studio. Three machines made their first-ever appearance in sixteen volumes this week: the Lamborghini HuracΓ‘n Sterrato, the Pininfarina Battista, and the De Tomaso P72. And because the canyon changed the dress code, three skirt styles this series has never worn: burnt-orange blanket-wrap, mustard asymmetric ruffle, and champagne lamΓ© drape. The mountains gave us gold light. I matched it, obviously. ππ
Look 1: Burnt-Orange Blanket-Wrap Mini & HuracΓ‘n Sterrato π§‘π
Outfit: Burnt-orange wool blanket-wrap mini skirt with southwestern stripe trim Β· Ivory ribbed turtleneck crop top Β· Tan knee-high suede boots Β· Amber resin statement earrings
They say never touch a supercar. They have clearly never met the HuracΓ‘n Sterrato β Lamborghini's all-terrain rebel, mud-flecked from the canyon run, rally light pod gleaming on the roof β because this one invites fingerprints. I crouched down on one knee to check its chunky Pirelli tread like any serious co-driver would, giving the camera a fierce look that said yes, I know exactly what I'm doing (I mostly did). The golden aspens behind us agreed it was a good angle. π§‘
The fashion moment: blanket-wrap wool β a series first, and autumn's most underused fabric. The wrap construction cinches close while the southwestern stripe trim nods to the canyon country around us, and burnt-orange on burnt-orange bodywork is the boldest tonal match since the scarlet-on-Rosso scandal of Vol. 15. The suede knee-highs ground the look for gravel, the amber earrings catch the low sun, and the ivory turtleneck crop keeps the proportion long. Fall fashion, darling, is not a compromise β it's a color strategy. π
Look 2: Mustard Asymmetric Ruffle Mini & Pininfarina Battista πβ‘

Outfit: Mustard-yellow asymmetric satin mini skirt with cascading ruffle hem Β· Black fitted long-sleeve crop top with single gold cuff button Β· Black pointed stiletto ankle boots with silver buckles Β· Bold gold dome cuff earrings
Every promenade needs a finale, and I gave this one mine: a few steps past the mirrored chrome gate, then the glance back over my shoulder β dreamy, teasing, utterly rehearsed (four takes, worth all of them). Behind me, glowing under the string lights, the glacier-silver Pininfarina Battista β 1,900 horsepower of pure electric silence, rose-gold wheels, curves sculpted so sensuously it's practically a car-shaped argument. The loudest hypercar at the meet was the quietest one there. π
The fashion moment: the asymmetric ruffle hem β sixteen volumes and the series has never once gone this dramatically lopsided, and honestly? Cascading satin ruffles move the way the Battista delivers torque: instantly, silently, and with no warning. Mustard against glacier-silver is autumn's best cold-warm pairing, the single gold cuff button keeps the black top from going plain, and the buckled stiletto boots add just enough hardware to survive a polished-concrete promenade. Wear this one to any evening show, darling β especially ones with mirrors. β‘
Look 3: Champagne LamΓ© Drape Mini & De Tomaso P72 π₯π

Outfit: Champagne-gold lamΓ© draped mini skirt with soft asymmetric drape Β· Ivory silk camisole crop top Β· Metallic gold strappy stiletto sandals Β· Slim stacked gold bangles
Sunday morning, mist still lifting off the lake, and the concours lawn's rarest arrival: the De Tomaso P72 β pearl-champagne coachbuilt bodywork, a bubble canopy like a jet, and a leaping-deer hood ornament that deserves its own press pass. Fewer than a handful exist, so naturally I leaned right back on its front fender, ankles crossed, sunglasses pushed up into my hair, sun-squint smiling up at the lens like a woman who arrived early on purpose. Dew on the grass, gold on the water, gold on me. π₯
The fashion moment: lamΓ© drape β the series' first true liquid-metal skirt, and the finale demanded it. Soft champagne lamΓ© pools and glints with every shift of the hip, echoing the P72's pearl bodywork so completely that the valet asked (twice) whether we came as a set. The silk camisole keeps it soft, the stacked bangles add morning-light sparkle, and the gold strappy sandals were worth every blade of dew-soaked grass. Some meetings are black tie. This one was gold standard. π

This week traded chandeliers for canyons: three all-terrain-golden-hour firsts, three series-first fabrics, and a tonal match so committed the Sterrato and I shared a color palette. November proved one thing, darling β autumn doesn't dim a short skirt, it hands it a spotlight made of aspens. π
So which overlook wins the week β the blanket-wrap crouch with the Sterrato? The mustard glance-back with the silent Battista? Or the champagne lamΓ© sunrise with the P72 watching the mist? Vote below β you're styling Vol. 17.
Until next Thursday: keep your hems brave, your boots ready for gravel, and your gold standard high. π₯
