So much for "nobody wants a $2,000 foldable." Apple's iPhone Duo went up for pre-order at 5 a.m. Pacific this morning, and by 5:30 — thirty minutes, one coffee — every single configuration on Apple's store was quoting January 25 shipping. As in 2027. Say goodbye to finding one under the Christmas tree.

The warning shots were fired weeks ago. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman flagged limited supply, and Foxconn's final assembly yield was reportedly sitting barely above sixty percent as of mid-September. Everyone clicked "buy" anyway.

Apple's official suggestion? Show up at a store on October 23 launch day. Good luck with that — store pickup is already disabled until Saturday, and inventory is expected to be razor thin.

The full breakdown — what shipped, what slipped, and whether camping outside an Apple Store is actually worth it — is in today's video.
